
Assistant Strength and Performance Coach – Football
Job Description
The University of Houston Football Strength and Performance Staff seeks and immediate full time Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach. This position will report to the Director of Strength and Performance.
Job Duties
- Design and implement a comprehensive strength and conditioning program as related to injury prevention and performance enhancement (strength development, speed development, power development, movement capacity development, etc.) for assigned athletes
- Lead and assist in day-to-day operations of the training facilities
- Work closely with sport coaches to monitor athlete performance
- Provide effective communication (written & oral) to student athlete, coaches, sports administration, staff, etc.
- Assist coaches in recruiting
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with strength staff and other athletic department personnel
- Collaborate with sports medicine and athletic trainers regarding the rehabilitation process and return to play protocol of injured student athletes
- Enforce the standards, policies, and mission of The University of Houston
- Maintain all records concerning the student-athletes
- Maintain cleanliness of equipment and facilities
- Other related duties, as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree Required
- Master degree Preferred
- Certification by either of the two NCAA recognized strength and conditioning certification organizations: NSCA-CSCS and/or CSCCa-SCCC. (current & valid)
- Preferred Certification is by the Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches association (CSCCa).
- Current First Aid
- Current CPR Certification
