
Academy Sports Scientist
Job Description
ABOUT THE ROLE
To plan and deliver gym and field based athletic development sessions to academy players aged 9 to 16 years of age. Sessions will include, but are not limited to: S&C, warm-up’s, mobility and recovery.
- Deliver fitness testing to all academy players (U9-U19) throughout the season. (Pre, Mid, and End of Season).
- Assist the Lead Academy Sports Scientist with the delivery of hybrid.day release programme.
- Assist the Lead Academy Sports Scientist with U19 strength and conditioning programme.
- Input all sessions to online player management software. (FIP)
ABOUT THE CANDIDATE
Essential core experience and skills required
- Undergraduate degree (or working towards) in Sport and Exercise Science (or similar).
- Previous working experience with youth athletes in sport (more than 12 months).
Desirable requirements
- Master’s degree (or working towards) in Sport and Exercise Science (or similar).
- Previously worked with youth athletes in academy football in sport (more than 12 months).
