State Performance Coach

The State Performance Coach is responsible for supporting the delivery, organisation and on-court consistency of Basketball Queensland’s performance and pathway programs.

Working closely with the Performance Lead Coach and Pathways Development Coach, the role will lead the delivery and organisation of the State Performance Program and Futures Program, while supporting the Future Development ProgramEmerging Athlete ProgramIvor Burge Program, State Teams and broader pathway activities.

The role will help ensure athletes and coaches experience a connected, consistent and high-quality development pathway aligned to Basketball Queensland’s Style of Play, curriculum, business plan priorities and performance KPIs.

Key Responsibilities

State Performance Program

The State Performance Coach will lead the delivery and coordination of the State Performance Program across North and South Queensland.

This includes delivering high-quality on-court coaching, supporting session planning, coordinating program logistics, managing communication with athletes, parents, coaches and associations, and ensuring sessions are aligned to Basketball Queensland’s technical direction, Style of Play and broader State Team objectives.

The role will also support the transition of athletes from the State Performance Program into State Team trials, selections, camps and campaign preparation.

Futures Program

The State Performance Coach will lead the planning, coordination and delivery of the Futures Program across Queensland.

This includes coordinating session plans, coach communication, athlete and parent communication, attendance tracking, administration and program reporting.

The role will support athlete identification, progression and development within the Futures Program and ensure the program connects effectively into the Future Development Program, Emerging Athlete Program, State Performance Program and broader Basketball Queensland pathway.

Future Development Program

The role will support the Pathways Development Coach in the planning, coordination and delivery of the Future Development Program.

This includes providing on-court coaching support, technical guidance, coach support and administrative assistance to ensure the program aligns with Basketball Queensland’s curriculum, coaching standards and pathway objectives.

Emerging Athlete Program

The State Performance Coach will support the Emerging Athlete Program in collaboration with the Performance Lead Coach and Pathways Development Coach.

This includes assisting with session planning, athlete development priorities, on-court coaching, logistics, coach support and the identification and progression of athletes within the program.

State Teams, Ivor Burge and National Championships

The role will support State Team trials, selections, camps, preparation, reporting, National Championship reviews and post-campaign debriefs.

The State Performance Coach will also coordinate and support the Ivor Burge program, including planning, communication, volunteer coach coordination, training delivery, team logistics, budget tracking, reporting and administration.

Coach Support and Program Consistency

The State Performance Coach will support consistent coaching delivery across Basketball Queensland performance and pathway programs.

This includes providing practical coaching support, feedback and guidance to program coaches and volunteer coaches, assisting with coach identification and appointment processes, supporting coach education activities and helping implement Basketball Queensland’s Style of Play and curriculum across pathway programs.

Reporting, Systems and Administration

The role will maintain accurate program records, including attendance, athlete information, coach feedback and program updates.

The State Performance Coach will support reporting across Teamworks AMS, Cascade KPIs, program delivery and pathway outcomes, while providing regular updates to the Performance Lead Coach, Pathways Development Coach and Performance and Pathways Manager.

The role will also contribute to program reviews, athlete development insights, coach feedback and continuous improvement planning.

Licenciado en Actividad Física (Universidad del Salvador) y Especialista en Fisiología del Ejercicio (Universidad Nacional de La Plata). Cuenta con dos maestrías internacionales: MSc. Strength and Conditioning (University of Greenwich) y MSc. Complex Systems in Sports (Universitat de Barcelona).

Está certificado por la National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) como Certified Performance and Sports Scientist (CPSS), Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) y Certified Personal Trainer (CPT). Además, se desempeña como docente en la Universidad del Salvador.

Actualmente es CEO de Comunidad LIFT y NSCA Manager LATAM, liderando proyectos de formación y desarrollo profesional en ciencias del deporte. También se desempeña como Director of Data Science & Performance Innovation en Utah Soccer (Real Salt Lake, Utah Royals y Real Monarchs), donde lidera la estrategia de innovación, análisis de datos y sistemas de rendimiento a nivel organizacional.

Ha ocupado roles destacados como Coordinador de Rendimiento en la Selección Mexicana de Fútbol y Sports Scientist en HUDL, integrando ciencia aplicada, tecnología y metodología contemporánea en el alto rendimiento.
